About Des Owen I've been attempting to play the guitar since I was about 15 but it's not really working is it.  My philosophy is to play well enough to accompany my singing so that I can continue writing songs. I write songs when the mood or the inspiration hits me.  I bury myself in my little recording studio in Wales and just knock out the tunes and lyrics without regard to rhyme or reason - I just write what comes out - nothing to do with me really. I think my real pleasure comes from seeing people I don't know in the audience singing along tio one of my songs.  Surely there is no greater pleasure for a songwriter.
